Wednesday, February 22 is Ash Wednesday.
Please help your child to prepare for their Lenten journey. We
invite all families to mark their calendars to join us on Sunday,
February 26 for a Lenten Family Soup Supper – more
information to follow. Let’s Magnify the Lord this Lent by our
deeds and actions!
2nd Grade students and parents should have their calendars
marked for the Making Connections, a required First
Communion event, which will be held on Saturday, March 10 at
11:00 a.m. in the church. This event is only held once.
5th Grade students have been taken on a church tour during
the past weeks’ classes. Parents are urged to ask their 5th
grader to tell them about the sacrament stained glass windows
in St. Aloysius Church.
All Level II Confirmation students must either write a letter to
Msgr. Scheyd or have a short conversation with one of our
priests before being confirmed. Letters are due to catechists
the week of February 27. Students who prefer the interview
option are asked to contact Chris Otis via email at
appointment with the priest of their choice.
Level II students are reminded to attend the program,
"Bringing God into your Decision Making" which will be
presented by Father Bob Kinnally on Monday, February 27 from
7-8 p.m. in Stapleton Hall. This is a required event and there is
no opportunity to make it up, so please mark your calendar.
Level I & II students are invited to our rosary making
workshops to earn service hours. Representatives from Our
Lady’s Guild will be on hand to teach the wonderful ministry of
making rosaries. Sessions will be held from 2:30 p.m.-3:30p.m.
in Stapleton Social Hall on Wednesday, February 22, Thursday,
February 23 and Friday, February 24. Students are asked to
attend TWO out of the three sessions as it will take that amount
of time to learn the knot making and produce a rosary or two.

Level I & II students are urged to attend the Living Stations of
the Cross Friday, February 24 from 7:30 p.m.-8:15 p.m. to earn
their Spiritual Work of Mercy. Held in the church, these
interactive stations are middle and high-school oriented and
designed to challenge and invite young people to reflect and
join in Christ’s journey to Calvary.
