St. A's Teens Put their Faith into Action

Our teens and their families are reaching out to continue to mentor and provide food for the Breakthrough Options families, they have sponsored art boxes and are starting pen pal relationships with the Thorpe children, they play Bingo on Zoom weekly with our friends with special needs, they are reaching out with phone calls and helping our senior parishioners with grocery shopping, they are feeding the hungry, decorating the Denali to evangelize and making masks for the Midnight Run and others.  Thank you to all of them for being a reflection of Christ to others!

Service Opportunities

Birthday Brigades for Breakthrough Options Kids:
High School teens and their parents needed for our January/February Breakthrough Options Birthday Brigades. You will put together a birthday celebration box with all the essentials for a birthday celebration and make a birthday card for a child of a single mom who has a birthday.  We will share contact info so that you can make a visit with a parent to the front porch in a mask and gloves, safely social distancing to deliver the box, say a prayer with the family and play a recording of Happy Birthday.  Details of what you should include are at the link:

Luminaries for Life:
Since we cannot go down to the March for Life, our parish will be hosting many different opportunities to allow our parishioners to showcase their belief in respect for life!  Light is a sign of HOPE and so, Youth Ministry will draw attention to the hope for an increase in the respect for life by forming a team to assemble, put out and clean up luminaries that will be in front of the church on Friday, January 29.  All safety protocols will be followed with mask wearing and social distancing!  Sign up to help at:

Tim Tebow Night to Shine:
The Tim Tebow Foundation has a passion for people with special needs and in 2014 launched “Night to Shine.”  The vision was simple, work with churches around the country to provide an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older.

As this year's event will be virtual, volunteering will look a bit different - yet still be a wonderful way to participate and be part of an incredible community of friends. We hope you'll get in on the fun on Friday, February 12.
