St A's Youth in Action!

Malta House - Welcome Baskets!

In Fairfield County alone, there are more than 300 births each year to young, unmarried women living below the poverty line. Malta House promotes the dignity of God-given life by providing a nurturing home environment, support services and independent living skills to pregnant and parenting mothers of all faiths and their children.

Our Emmaus teens took part of the recent holiday weekend to deliver the beautiful welcome baskets for the Malta House Moms who are moving in this month! We thank all those who made this possible: our Emmaus community of parents, teens and past rectors and rectoras, other parishioners who contributed and a special thanks to the Knights of Columbus who supplied first-aid kits and Walmart gift cards to the baskets.

Our teens and their families are reaching out to continue to mentor and provide food for the Breakthrough Options families, they have sponsored art boxes and are starting pen pal relationships with the Thorpe children, they play Bingo on Zoom weekly with our friends with special needs, they are reaching out with phone calls and helping our senior parishioners with grocery shopping, they are feeding the hungry, decorating the Denali to evangelize and making masks for the Midnight Run and others.  Thank you to all of them for being a reflection of Christ to others!
