Eucharistic Ministers

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are parishioners who are chosen and commissioned by the pastor and the diocese to serve at weekday and weekend Masses as assigned.

The comfort of receiving our Lord in the Eucharist is available to all homebound parishioners.  To receive a homebound call, email Tom Aylward at  203-966-0941.

Are you or a family member abstaining from receiving Communion because you are gluten-free? We have special gluten-free hosts that can be consecrated for you during the Mass. If you or a family member has a need to receive via a gluten-free host, please stop by the Priest’s Sacristy 10 minutes prior to Mass time and our clergy will be happy to help you be fed by the Eucharist!

Lectors

" The Lord God has given me a well- trained tongue." Isaiah 50:4-7

Music Ministry

Come be a part of the Saint Aloysius Music Ministry!

The Music Ministry of St. A’s offers you the opportunity to let music become a part of your gift to God.  Indeed, there is a place for all ages to share in the joys of serving God through music.  Through the music ministry, there are opportunities for spiritual, personal and musical growth.  Although musical excellence is strived for, the priority is for each individual to be nurtured in the love of God and lead the congregation to “Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord”.

Ushers

Our Usher Ministry Mission Statement covers the function of Usher and represents current liturgical practice at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan, CT. Ushers embody the principles of hospitality and welcoming of the faithful and assist in preparing our brothers and sisters to participate in the Divine Liturgy.

The Ministry of ushers is the oldest lay ministry in the Church and is based on the clerical order of Porter. Today women, as well as teenagers and children are encouraged to participate as ushers.

The primary duties of ushers include cheerfully greeting and welcoming parishioners as they enter the church, helping them to find seats, particularly the elderly and those with special needs, taking up the collections, helping those bringing forward the gifts, escorting the Eucharistic Minister to people who are not able to come forward to receive Communion, After Mass, we wish everyone a good day and distribute bulletins.

For more information, please contact Christine Ayoub at  203-966-6882 or email.
