Our Lady's Guild

The purpose of Our Lady's Guild is to promote devotion to the Blessed Mother, thus deepening our faith and drawing us closer to her Son.

Our Lady's Guild has three major functions:

PRAYER
Our spiritual life is enriched through recitation of the rosary after Masses, participation in Eucharistic Adoration, presentations by guest speakers, days of recollection, pilgrimages and spiritual book discussions.

OUTREACH
Our faith is put into action when we help others, including those outside the parish. We support the missions by making and donating rosaries throughout the year. In January, we help prepare and serve lunch to senior citizens at Lapham Community Center.  At Christmas time our members collect and deliver gifts to a local nursing home. In addition, we visit and care for the homebound through various activities at Waveny Care Center, the New Canaan Inn and St. Camillus Health Center on an ongoing basis.

SERVICE
Members of Our Lady's Guild are very active in parish life, serving as Eucharistic Ministers, lectors, religious education teachers, and coordinators of various parish devotions.  Our Lady’s Guild is responsible for the Living Rosary in October, Mary’s Way of the Cross in Lent, the Crowning of the Blessed Mother in May and the perpetual circulation of the Pilgrim Virgin statue. Every year we have some project that connects us with children in St. Aloysius School and the Religious Education Program to foster awareness and devotion to the Blessed Mother among our youth.  Members are also responsible for all facets of our meetings, including hospitality, speaker coordination, scheduling, reporting, publicity, membership, remembrances, and reservations.
